This is the trip I dreamed of since I was a child. I was really nervous when we got to the airport, but I knew that this would be two weeks packed with fun. When we arrived at the home of our house family, six dogs run towards us. I already felt like a part of this family. In addition to that, our host family was really nice. They showed us everything in their house and cooked us a very delicious dinner every evening. Every morning, we had lessons to improve our English skills. I really liked about it that we did something different in every lesson, so it was really varied but the focus was always speaking. After that, we had activities like paintballing, surfing, chocolate making, or power boating. We always chose what we would like to do. One day we had a beach afternoon and played volleyball. I enjoyed that. But we also had free time to discover Scarborough. There are lots of tiny shops and the view of the South Bay is breathtaking. On the first weekend, we went to cities like Withby, Robin Hood‘s Bay, and York. I like Robin Hood‘s Bay the most because it wasn’t so crowded, and I like the little shops.
We also had some free time there to try fish and chips. On the next weekend, we went to Flamingoland, which is a park full of roller coasters. It was great and also had a zoo where we saw gorgeous animals. It wasn’t difficult to find new friends because everyone was here for the first time and wanted to have a good time. In the evenings, we went to the beach or had a disco night. Of course, my English skills have improved because I heard two weeks only English and I really got used to it. Before I went here, I was afraid because I didn’t know how it would be or if I would meet nice people. But all my worries were in vain because it wasn’t difficult at all. During the weeks, I hadn’t much time to miss my parents. For me, the two weeks here in England have flown by. Tomorrow, we are going to London, and I’m so excited. I would recommend to everyone to make this trip not only to improve your English skills, but also to gain confidence by speaking English, and the most important, to have fun. These memories will stay forever.
